Sommet Labs is a research and engineering firm building at the foundations of the financial internet. We are core contributors across multiple chains, working on the most consequential infrastructure in crypto.
Sommet Labs is built by engineers and principals with deep pedigree across the most consequential teams in crypto. Between us we have shipped core protocol infrastructure at leading lending markets and cross-chain bridges, led token launches and DeFi integrations at the two largest exchanges in the world, and have kept building through every regime crypto has lived through.
What carries through is taste, ownership, and a high tolerance for complex problems.
Sommet Labs is hiring a cryptography engineer to build privacy-preserving systems at the protocol and infrastructure layer. You will work on zero-knowledge proof systems, multi-party computation, and recursive proof composition for in-house infrastructure and ecosystem-critical components.
- Design and implement ZK and MPC components for production systems.
- Work on recursive proof composition, witness encoding, and access-control models.
- Collaborate with smart contract and systems engineers on integration boundaries.
- Author internal specifications and contribute to relevant academic and industry literature.
- Help shape Sommet Labs' broader cryptography agenda.
- Strong foundation in modern applied cryptography: ZK proof systems (PLONK, Halo2, Groth16, etc.), MPC, and encryption schemes.
- Experience implementing cryptographic primitives in Rust, Go, or similar systems languages.
- Familiarity with at least one production ZK framework (arkworks, halo2, snarkjs, etc.).
- Comfort reading and translating cryptography papers into engineering.
- Track record of shipping cryptographic code in adversarial production environments.
- First-principles thinker, drawn to hard, unsolved problems.
- Practical and pragmatic; preference for implementation over abstract elegance.
- High signal-to-noise communicator across cryptography and engineering audiences.
- Curious about real-world deployment, performance, and threat models.
